The schools in Solana Beach are top notch. According to Great Schools.org, Solana Beach schools rank a 9/10. Poway schools have drawn the most attention San Diego Countywide and the Poway Schools rank a 8/10. Encinitas Schools rank a 8/10. Cardiff schools are also known to have a phenomenal reputation and rank a 9/10. La Jolla schools rank a 9/10. Rancho Santa Fe schools and Del Mar schools rank the highest, a 10/10.

Life in Solana Beach
Off Cedros Avenue you will find the Solana Beach Design District. It is home to many incredible shops, local artists, restaurants, and arguably one of San Diego’s best music venues, the Belly Up. You can go beer tasting at the Culture Brewery or wine tasting at Carruth Cellars. If you’re craving a cup of Joe, you can have your choice between Peet’s Coffee, the Lofty Bean (coming soon), Java Depot, or the Solana Beach Coffee Company. There are also 2 Starbucks locations off Lomas Santa Fe, so coffee is not an issue. On Sundays you can swing by the Solana Beach Farmer’s Market between 1-5PM. There is usually live music, warm food, fresh produce, and friendly faces. If you are feeling a little more adventurous and want to leave town, you can walk down to the Solana Beach Amtrak or Coaster and take the train to Carlsbad Village, Encinitas, Downtown San Diego, or Old Town. The coaster is especially convenient for sporting events. The Coaster runs directly to and from San Diego Padres or San Diego Chargers games.

The beaches
Solana Beach offers 1.7 miles of coastline to enjoy with friends, family, or your significant others. It is a popular spot for swimming and surfing. Fletcher Cove (also known to locals as Pillbox) is the most notable beach in Solana Beach. Surrounding this incredible beach is a beautiful park for children to play and a half court basketball court. Tide Park or Tide Beach Park is a more known to locals and less crowded. It is just minutes north of Fletcher Cove and located in the Solana Palisades community. If you’re looking to catch a good wave, Seascape is the spot. It is a sand-bottom beach and the most popular place to surf in Solana Beach. Del Mar Shores is in the final four Solana Beach beaches. It borders Del Mar and is less than 1 mile north of Del Mar’s very popular Del Mar dog beach, also known as North Beach.

Hotels
For lodging there are several hotel options in Solana Beach. The Winners Circle Resort is off Via de La Valle and centrally located between Del Mar and Solana Beach. There is the Marriott Courtyard off Highway 101. Also off Highway 101 is the Holiday Inn Express and the Sand Pebbles Resort. There are other many other hotels in the surrounding areas, but this conclude all the hotels in the immediate Solana Beach area.

Dining
Solana Beach has some incredible dining. Claires on Cedros is the most popular breakfast spot. There are many other great spots to include: Naked Cafe, Beach Grass Cafe, Cedros Cafe, Hideaway Cafe, Orange Blossom Cafe, T’s Cafe. A very popular place to catch lunch is the Solana Beach Fish House. There is Local Greens or The Curious Fork if you are looking for a quick salad or a light meal. Other good lunch restaurants include the Lockwood Table Cafe, Bangkok Bay Thai Restaurant, Waters Catering, Crush, Station Sushi, and Pillbox Tavern. For dinner some great choices are The Fish Market, Red Tracton’s Steakhouse, Tony’s Jacal, Pizza Port, Wild Note Cafe, and the Pamplemousse Grille.
